Boy this guy really gives the term “money talks and bullshit walks” a new meaning…

You can take the guy out of DC…
Happy Independence Day!
Hey y’all! I’m still here!
Happy Independence Day!
It’s never easy being a DC sports fan but it has definitely been a rough time for this Nats fan…and I know I’m not alone. Not to mention it’s TOO DAMN HOT to sit at the ballpark and watch the team fail night after night.
I skipped the 11a too-hot-to-be-disappointed game today to spend time with my Mom and Godmother instead. Somehow we still ended up near the ballpark, enjoying the scenery at The Yards, where I ran into a couple of Red Sox fans shortly after the game.
Nats lost to the Red Sox AGAIN today 3-0. Sweep for Boston. FIFTH straight loss for us.
In other news, I received my All-Star event tickets a couple of weeks ago. So I’m looking forward to that at this point because unlike a Curly W(in) from the Nats, it is certain.

And We’re Back!
It’s been a week since my last post and sadly…nothing much had changed.
When we left off the guys got their asses handed to them in Queens the last game of the series against the Mets. They’ve been on the West Coast (cue problematic light) since last Thursday taking on the Dodgers and then the Giants.
We won the first game against the Dodgers 5-2 then lost the remaining 2 games of that series and on Monday, started a 3-game series against the Giants. And yes…we lost…and lost again. Actually we had lost 4 consecutive games at that point.
But boy did our bats come alive on Wednesday!
Yep! You read that right…we beat the Giants!! 15-2!
With that win…we sit 11-14 and 4th in the NL East.
It’s still early right?!
We’re back home now and tonight we take on the Arizona Diamondbacks.
Meet me there.

Fret Not…We Might Be On Our Way!
Wow! It was just a yesterday I posted about the string of losses the Nats were being dealt. #IBackTheNats but I’m also realistic sooooo full disclosure…I had very low expectations for how my guys would fare in New York. I mean come on…the Mets swept us during our opening series at home.
Why would anyone think being in New York but work out in our favor?!
But boy are they proving me wrong! Last night, the guys took down the Mets 8-6 and beat the Mets again tonight, 5-2.
Max earned NL Player of the Week and Bryce blasted his 8th home run while breaking the barrel of his bat! BOOM!
And while the Rockies recently took that series from us…they’re small potatoes. We have #OnePursuit and the Mets are currently standing in 1st place in the NL East…aka…in our way.
The Nats are now 9-9. Still ranked 4th in the NL East but only 4 games behind. I’m still on the fence regarding whether or not “it’s still early” but this pivot change and momentum the guys seem to have feels pretty damn good!
Also, shout out to the Phillies for taking down the Braves today!
Let’s Go Nats!

Nationals Park Is Lit!
Back In The Swing Of Things
Man have the boys been busy and off to a GREAT start!
The last time we spoke it was officially Opening Day for the Nationals. Nats played the Reds in Cinci and beat them 2-0. After that the Nats went on to sweep the series against the Reds (13-7 and 6-5) before heading to Atlanta for a 3-game series against the Braves.
Adam Eaton is back in the lineup (following surgery on his ACL) and doing Adam Eaton things! There’s a reason why they call him Mighty Mouse. And ICYMI…he was voted NL Player of the Week!
Bryce Harper is also killing the game and proving his haters wrong….AGAIN. While in Cincy, he hit a home run. Then a Reds’ fan called him “overrated”, to which he answered with what?!? ANOTHER HOME RUN!
1. Bryce Harper’s up…
2. Someone yells “OVERRATED.”

Also, Bryce hit a 3-run home run against the Braves yesterday. That makes his 3rd in 2 days.
Although Catcher Matt Weiters (shout out to the Os) was placed on the 10-Day DL for an oblique strain, 24 year-old Pedro Severino was called up from Triple-A Syracuse and opened yesterday’s game against the Braves.
Nats over the Braves 8-1.
I’m getting ready for our home opener on Thursday. Yes, there is fan preparation for any game but ESPECIALLY Opening Day AT HOME! Think Opening Day Survival List….I’ll talk more about it in my next post.
*UPDATE* The wins just keep coming. I came across 1,000 Red Carpet Rewards points in my account. I’ll trade those in on Thursday for Curly W earrings and a Nationals umbrella.
Record: 4-0
NL East Standing: 1st!
